cab/core supp.mounts?

before too long will be tackling my next project ......changing my rubber cab/radiator supports w/ new polyurethane mounts.is it recommended to detach the column to lift it up enuff to change the mounts?how about the brake lines into the bottom of the master cyl.?i believe the wires going through the firewall are long enuff to give slack to lift up the body..... any other pinch points that anyone thats done this happened to notice when you did this w/ a full body-on-frame truck?how 'bout the fuel line outta the tank?thanks to all who respond, later.

cab

The brack lines chould be ok, especially if you still have the coils next to the master cyl. if you have done some mods and they are stretched tight, you might want to take them off. If you are worried about air getting in the line, it would probably be just as easy to just unbolt the master cyl from the firewall/ booster if you have power brakes and let it hang out. Just undo your column from the rag joint. it is a lot easier (two bolts with two nuts). Your hard lin out of the gas tank has a rubber line attached to it as soon as it goes through the floor. It runs from the bottom of the cab to the frame rail. Since it is rubber you have some play. It depends on how high you want to go. It would not be hard though to undo the line at the frame rail and plug it up momentarily.

Most trucks have the front cab mount bolts welded to the floor at the head, so you will need to grind the weld or prepare to pick the cab up approximately 6".

thanks for the insights guys. had forgot that the frt. cab mounts are welded to the floor, would probably make sense to just replace the frt.cab mount bolts and re-use the old washers.is it better to loosen all the bolts and do it all at the same time rather than alternate from drv.side to pass. side?
