Has Anyone Installed a 4L69E or 4L80E in one of these trucks?

I have a 4L80E from a vehicle that had a "stand-alone" ECM just to operate the tranny.I`m looking at ways to drive the speedo.

Re: Has Anyone Installed a 4L69E or 4L80E in one of these trucks?

I also have the 4L80E but not the one you have. I recall 2 vendors making the speedo drive. Unfortunatly I do not recall who they are. One cast a whole new tail piece while the other cut and welded a drive in place. I think the welded job was Art Carr Transmission.

My trans came from a van and I got ALL the wires and devices. I am not looking forward to hooking it up(paying $1100-1500 for harness) when I probably have everthing I need already.

I wonder if I could use the speedo from the donor and keep the system "as manufactured."Maybe I could still use my stock face.

That would be the easier/cheaper way. I though there was an adapter out there to convert, but as usual $$$ is the factor.

So is it going to be in a 2 wheel drive because if it was in a 4 wheel you could just use the cable coming off the transfer case.

I didn't consider a NP241 but I know that the NP205 has the cable.

Re: Has Anyone Installed a 4L69E or 4L80E in one of these trucks?

That would be it. It is called the cable-x. I am going to use one too. I was going to use a 700 inplace of my turbo 350, but ran across a good price on a 4L60e. Since I have an 94 LT1, it will be nice to have all the extra electronic goodies working as well.
