73-80 Defroster grille

Do the 73-80 models not have defroster grilles on the dash pad? I know the 81-87 does but my 80 does not and I don't see them listed in parts catalogs. What keeps from dropping things in the defroster duct?

My 75 just has open vents up top. Doesn't look like it had a grille at any point. Found the end of a skipping rope in the foot well heater outlet that probably fell in from up top haha.

Nope no grills. What you have pictured Uknowme is exactly how I've seen every 73-80 truck, including my current 79.

Funny story, my father had a 79 he bought new for a daily driver. He tossed his Bic cigarette lighter up on the dash one day, turned a corner and it slid right into the defroster duct and disappeared. Fast forward 6 months and it's getting cold. He turns on the heater and BAM!!!! It got hot enough it blew up that Bic lighter and plastic shrapnel flew out the vents. Scared the **** out of us. He realized that's where his lighter went

They can be made. But I need all the correct measurements and see how many people are interested in them. These would be made to order. I am not making them but someone I contacted said he would. Idk the price.
