MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
Hi All It's a childhood dream. Finally, I achieved what I wanted to reach. It is also really tiring and hard. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=835868 I will post pictures of what I have done in the past few days. When I say it's tiring, it is. I've done a lot of projects here in my country for such trucks but here it's really different . The parts have become very difficult and shipping has been insanely high in the last two years, so the challenge has become great to restore the dream that has become a reality. I searched a lot for the color and specifications that I am looking for, and I am working very hard to achieve this dream, and I do not forget the friends here, because I am still learning a lot from them. I also thank the management of the forum for their understanding and patience. Without this forum and the administration this dream would not have come true and I would not have achieved what I want. My truck has arrived in my country and it was a warm meet and greet but there are a lot of challenges. There were some mechanical issues, but I expected everything. Here are some pictures ..

Re: MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
After I changed everything in the mechanics and started the truck, I thought of removing all the dirt in the chassis with dry ice.

Re: MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
I collected the parts, and as you know that some parts began to disappear from the sites, it is very difficult. Parts are really scarce

Re: MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
You also know. Different shipping companies have increased the shipping value. A big challenge and a high cost, especially since some parts are heavy and need time to reach

Re: MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
It's really tiring but worth it. We suffer here from shipping prices. I hope the project will be finished before the end of the year. Thank you

Re: MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
Subscribed. Thrilled to see the build thread. Really looks like outstanding work. Please post more when possible. Agree on the scarcity of parts - quite a change from ten years ago. Did you ever find a sliding rear window for the k2500?
The Bilstein shocks look nice and I’m sure they work well. Knowing your efforts to secure original GM parts, have you attempted to obtain either NOS Delco accessory or GM replacement examples? In my experience the GM replacements aren’t too tough to locate. That Toyota Prado in post #6 is nice too. Wish we had a broader selection of Toyota 4wds here in the US.

Re: MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
Great pics! It’s a real shame Toyota doesn’t offer a Land Cruiser/Prado here. I’ll pay a finders fee for a solid importable LH drive 90’s example.
That’s a savage rip in the tire. Old school BFG - probably well beyond its expiry date like those on my k20 That older style looks great on vintage 4wds.

Re: MY NEW JIMMY 1972 4x4
What is the process for using dry ice to remove dirt? I’ve never heard of that before. Awesome work so far!!!

Great that you finally got the Blazer you wanted.
That Dry ice cleaning is Cool. (no pun intended) I just looked there is someone real close to me that does this. I may give them a call.
