Hi from TN
Well I've been a member here for a while now. Started coming by when I bought my 54 Chevy and found a wealth of information here on this site. I'm still working on that one but ended up purchasing a 72 LWB today. Long story short the car that my wife was driving died and I really didn't want to invest the money needed to repair it. So went 'craigslisting' and ran across a 72 C10 (was actually looking for a 71 since that's the year I was born ).
The body seems pretty solid for the most part. Floor, doors, cab, bed, rocker panels all seem solid with just mostly surface rust. For a truck that's 40 years old I was impressed. Check out the pic of the seat. To top it off it already runs!!!! My plans are to do a truly 'budget' build (tune up, shocks, replace bushings etc) and keep it mostly stock. I plan on it being my daily driver. I say plan because as you can see in some of the pics the wife inspected my 'purchase' and started dropping hints about "it might be a good idea for me to just keep driving the SUV and she'll take the 72". Needless to say I threw her the dirtest look that I could safely get away with |

That was actually my original plan. I just couldn't find one that was running with the interior that wasn't trashed within my budget. Naturally I'll most likely find one since I just bought this truck. |

Re: Hi from TN
Checked with mama and she doesn't have plans sounds like a plan. Plus it would be inconsiderate of me to NOT put the truck on the road and see how she drives on a nice litte trip.

Re: Hi from TN
Don't worry about your wife wanting your truck. Just be prepared to "interest" her in a Blazer or Suburban as a cool classic family ride. Start looking yesterday.

Re: Hi from TN
Welcome from Central Florida and congrats on getting a cool truck!
Looks like all ya need is a front bumper, a bed liner and an air cleaner. That engine compartment should clean up real good. Might just be the camera angle but the fuel line looks a bit too close to the exhaust manifold. BTW the seat cover is aftermarket from back in the day, I have one just like it . The smile on her face makes it easier to buy parts ("of course its your truck Honey")
