Wtb - Halo Headlights
Can't Remember His Screen Name, But The Feul Cell Guy Is Doing A
68 Project Truck And It Has Halo Headlights, I E-mailed Him And He Got Them Off Of Ebay And They Were For 67-81 Camaro's, The Link Doesn't Work Anymore, Does Anyone Know Where 2 Buy Them. Are They The Same Thing As A H4 Conversion Or Are The Different.

I'm not sure if this is the same item, but APC makes 5" and 7" round lights that hold new style bulbs (9004 or something like that). I saw them in my local Advance Auto Store. Really nice looking, but I haven't read the back of the box yet. The website lists it as H4.

hmm. I wonder if you could change the blue bulb to an amber one and use those as signals.

Are you talking about the "Angel Eyes" headlights like new BMW's have, with the ring of light around the edge of the headlight? Try this link for creating your own home made ones! http://students.washington.edu/ashis...gel%20Eyes.htm

That's a great link! I was thinking more of the newer mercedes headlights with the blinker integrated into the lower portion of the headlight. That link has got me thinking though Jay

Go to http://www.myoldtruck.com/ and do a search for halo. From Piston's experience, only buy DOT approved headlights. Pictures in the posts were lost with the software update, but Piston probably still has them somewhere.

That's $35 bucks each, right? It is pretty close in price to the ones I mentioned. I need to stop back by the stare and see if they are glass or plastic lenses. I can only assume they would be plastic. I think the ones I saw come with the bulbs, also.

I remember the thread as well...I remember he was using BMW headlights (new BMW) very much like the lights in miket's post.

I've just bought a set for my 68 like the ones in Putters post on the net.
I'm in Australia so my supplier won't be of much help to you guys but they are available from a few manufacturers and vendors. I did find some called Diamondbacks (try google) which sell for around $50 U.S. the pair but thats just for the housings. You'll still need the halogen bulbs. I bought OPTI-BLUE bulbs which are xenon filled and look blue from any angle except straigh on. You could find the standard H4 conversions for less but they don't look quite as cool. Good Luck, Mark. |

Thanks Jay-Dawg,
I haven't downloaded too many pics yet but I will be fitting the new headlights tonight or tomorow so I'll post a pic of them right afterwards. I will be putting together a web-page soon with lots of pics of the 68. Mark. |
