Look what showed up at my place today!

-
Too bad it's not mine... Anyway, I'm not sure what I would do with it if it was. This is the only time I've really needed one this big in the last ten years. The second picture shows what I'm doing with it, cleaning out all the loose hay in the barn. I have one more full load to go and it will be empty. I built steps up to the haymow and when I get all of the loose hay out I will use the area to store all of my extra truck parts. Hopefully a 50' x 50' area will give me enough room...

Correct you are, but they have been getting swapped into the C/10, 20 & 30 series trucks for so long that most think it's an option, was only referring to the fact that of all the big face service trucks that I have checked over the years, about half or so have had something neat in the dash.

You know, I didn't even look at the dash. I'll have to check it out in the morning.

The guy that owns the truck has all kinds of animals so he's taking it for bedding. I was going to burn it & he said "NO WAY". I'm glad it's going for a good use.

Do any of the trucks that big have factory air guages in the cluster for the air brakes???? I would love to have one just to hook up to my air tank for my air ride.

yes, but I think they only go to 150psi which is not high enough.

Re: Look what showed up at my place today!

After a second look I think you should drop it 10" in the front and 12" in the rear. Chrome the wheels and you will be ready to cruise.

Re: Look what showed up at my place today!

Leon, that`s how love works, young man.You just get a feeling of wanting whether it makes sense or not.
I feel the same when I see these big boys. And,think the same,"What do I do if I get it?"I absolutely love the stubby little tow wagons.I always wanted to have a MD truck and upgrade the interior with CST trim.
Uh...best leave that dash alone.(I doubt you`ll see a vacuum guage,though)

Re: Look what showed up at my place today!

I sold a '72 with a 20 ft box body on the back of it, years ago - late '80's, for $ 1300. Only had about 50 K miles on it. 2-speed axle & all. Not a mark on it.

What a dummy; wish I had it back. Course, that's about all the $$$ it was worth, back then.

I still see the same guy who bought it, driving it around occasionally. Absolutely beat all to crap & being used as a firewood-hauler rig, but still going strong.
