Question on truck value for the experts here.

Ok. Here is my dilema. I am not a paying/supporting member of this site (yet). I may be some day especially if I buy a truck I am looking at. Can I ask opinions on value without being a paying/supporting member? Moderators? I don't want to upset the natural order of things of this great site.

It is a really nice start. Some body work here and there but if you have some $ and time it would be really nice! 4x4s are great. As far as price I'm not a professional at it but it seems like a good deal on your end. I'd go for it if thats the only body work, but be sure to check it. I've been jinxed once, guy just caked bondo and sanded it smooth on my first 63. Good luck!

no I do not think it is worth the asking price, or even close. I don't care if it happened to be a K10 cheyenne super with buckets - when it's in a million pieces, you can never accurately estimate the level of effort and $ left to complete it. Looks like an engine and a frame, and it is only a Custom trim level. My 2 cents only, definitely not worth it.

If it were me, I wouldn't pay $4k unless the body was on, and I could drive the truck home. In it's current shape, I wouldn't offer more than $2K.

That being said, the pictures he put up look like it could be a nice driver, once you put it all back together.

sounds like an 800project// with a rustbelt rotted cab that needs replaced an eanige with unknown amout of how many hundreds of thousands of miles
that couple of quarts of rustoleum on the frame is worth squat/// squint real hard and pretend

I think it may be a 2K truck. I can guarantee that those "few bubbles" will turn into a big hole when hit with a grinder. If you're looking to build a nice truck, this probably isn't it. If you just want a driver, this could work for you. I would go look at and kindly and respectfully tell him you can only give him $1500 for it. He probably will tell you it's worth a lot more than that- just give him your phone number and tell him to give a call if he changes his mind. He will not sell it for 4K- not even close. That's what I think
