frame straightening

My truck is dog tracking and everything looks good so i thing my frame is bent a bit and i wont to get it straightened.
I am going to box in my frame and i heard even if done right it can warp slightly so should i box it then have it straightened or straighten it first?

Re: frame straightening

Box it first then straighten. Then check to make sure no welds gave way or anything. This is how I would do it. Another member with more knowledge than I may say different. But either way I think your frame should be straighter
Maybe go int the suspension and chassis section of the forum and ask. valuable knowlage there

Re: frame straightening

I assume you are talking about the '85 4x4 in your signature: How do you know it's dog tracking? The front axle track width is slightly wider than the rear, giving a dog track appearance when following from behind.

Follow the truck and check down both sides before jumping to any conclusions.

Then - before going to the frame shop - have the alignment checked at a shop that can give you the "rear axle thrust angle". See if that either confirms or denies your suspicions.

After that - start down the path on how to fix it.

My $.03 -
