another new guy from alberta though

thought i'd finally register....this site is amazing and has SO much great/helpfull info it makes building these trucks amazingly fun!!........i've currently traded my 82 toyota 4x4(mildly built with a 302 and 38'' tires:devil)for a 60 gmc s/b step side......i've currrently put air bags in the rear and turned the torsion bars down and so far got 4.5'' drop (yes actually will drop more yet prolly another 2'')now if i can post a pic to show........

Re: another new guy from alberta though

currentl has a 350/350 in it,but the motor is tired......i stripped a 86 caprice was told it had a 350 in it but it's a 305 runs great so i'm thinking about a gasket kit and some bolt on stuff then put the 305 in,also have a o/d tranny with the 305 aswell
next would be fixing the body, changing everything to 5 bolt(gotta look that stuff up yet),get rid of the drum brakes(yes still has drums on all 4 corners lol)......then one never knows

Re: another new guy from alberta though

I thought of changing from drums but for the moment that's stock. Nice grab on the 305/OD trans though. But I'd keep that 350 and build it up.

Re: another new guy from alberta though

ok haven't done much but gather more parts.....no c notch for me(well not for a long while if i do one)stripped a 82 chev truck for parts so i have my new front end for the air bags, was going to use the rear diff to but being a stepside and lowering it i think getting the right rim/tire combo might be harder, for now i'm gunna redrill the 6 bolt axle to a 5 bolt (that'll be awhile yet i'm sure)needing rear fenders fronts wouldn't hurt either but.......being out of work puts a real damper on ambition and everything else
cpl pics for browsing.....
