Hydroboost/EVO sensor delete?

Hey peeps, I am in the process of retrofitting a 97 GMC Safari serpentine hydroboost system into my 67 but am looking for a way/fitting to bypass the Electronic Variable Orifice sensor on the power steering pump. Does anyone have knowledge of what I need to accomplish this? Thanks in advance.

Re: Hydroboost/EVO sensor delete?

I have ordered the fitting GM# 26009894 and plan on using a older model (pre-evo sensor) hose. Will update when I get the part in hand and installed. I will also post pics when I get my new alternator (cs130d) and the power steering reservoir sandblasted/painted.

Re: Hydroboost/EVO sensor delete?

Ended up going with a 98 C3500 power steering pump, the A-1 Cardone pump (208739F) had the non-EVO fitting. Serpentine install is complete. Next mission is to work on figuring out the plumbing. I believe the EVO was for rack and pinion steering system on the Astro/Safari vans.

Re: Hydroboost/EVO sensor delete?

Thanks James. I was hoping to use OEM steering lines for a 98 C3500 (metric)but I have a 76 power steering gear box (standard inverted flare). Had to heat and dimple the frame (67) for the gear box. I still could use the OEM lines once I find the 11/16 x 18 tubing nut but -6 AN hoses, reuseable ends, and adapters are probably the way to go. If I were to ever have a hose blow out, I could just make it up on the road. I will post more on the fittings later.
