Using the forum to sell

who has experience selling a truck here? I'm willing to pay the membership fee to post my truck for sale but not sure if it's worth it. I'm not getting much luck on the craigslist, which is strange because I've sold many a vehicle there.

Re: Using the forum to sell

If something isn't selling it's usually due to the price being too high.

Re: Using the forum to sell

I've bought and sold several trucks (and parts) on this site using the sale forum - no issues here and it was worth the money (to me).

Re: Using the forum to sell

I've bought a lot more than I've sold, but I've eventually sold everything I've put up for sale.

Some stuff just doesn't sell though (at least not for a long time) like drum spindles, etc.

The thing about the truck board is that you have an audience of truck nuts whereas on Craigslist you just have a bunch of nuts....... That's no guarantee it will sell on here but as leddzepp said it all depends on quality vs. price.

Yes! Nuts for sure. I usually post high and get a bunch of low ball offers. Eventually someone serious will ask to see the item and ask if I'm willing to negotiate. I'll say yes and the price will come down to something fair. I honestly don't know what the truck is worth but I have a good ballpark.

Re: Using the forum to sell

Found and bought my Blazer from a member on this site. Good guy, we both made 8hr. round trips and met half way to see it. I figured it was a pretty good hot rod if he'd cruise that far to show it. Made the trip with the trailer to his place the next weekend and bought it. I've had good results selling parts also.

Smile Re: Using the forum to sell

Some items or trucks don't sell simply because they are either not priced well or often, not presented very well.....I see this on a lot of ads, simply poor marketing strategies.
If you sell a truck on a national (international) forum like this...the challenge for a prospective buyer will be how to get it home, because they probably don't live down the block.
If there is anything you can do to facilitate assistance with that...it makes a big difference.
However, you need to join the forum first....and its a great investment.
Then if you do post up your truck, make sure you don't take 2 pictures of it....take as many as you can, showing everything that is of probable interest and remembering that this forum is full of 'knowledgeable guys who are in the know'....so be extremely honest about what you know and about what you don't know or you risk getting called out on it.
Anywhooo, just my two bits and good luck
