350 transmission question

Okay, so this isn't exactly a Chevy pickup question--actually a Jeepster but..... Ya'll have some great knowledge here so I thought id ask the question.

My brother has an all original 60s Jeepster with the V6 and 350 trans behind it. When driving it and it's cold the Jeep stalls when it stops at a light and when it's warmed up it stumbles and lurches almost like when you don't clutch a manual as you stop.

Any ideas out there? Could be applicable to our trucks I imagine! He's replaced the torque converter.

Thanks Dave

Re: 350 transmission question

Sounds like fuel to me. I would start with the carb. Especially looking at the choke. But remember that 90% of carburetor problems are ignition...

Why would you assume this was related to the transmission right off the bat?

Re: 350 transmission question

I'm assuming because they went through the fuel system as I recall. I'll inquire and get back to the thread. Thanks

Re: 350 transmission question

Too low of a stall rpm on the torque converter? Too high of an idle rpm? Is kick down cable adjusted properly to engage only at full throttle? Vacuum leaks?
