Re: Part of the Americana?
i really hope he succeeds, i used to love woodworking. i still have the coffee and end tables, kitchen bar, jewelry boxes, lamp, bowls etc. that i made way back in high school. when i was i 8th grade two shop teachers lived within a few hundred feet of me and i learned how to use the woodshop tools during the summer prior to going into high school.

Re: Part of the Americana?
I wanted a ShopSmith for a very long time. I thought I would get into woodworking.
Then I got my welder, plasma cutter, metal saw, machine lathe, etc... Maybe someday when I have a shop with much more room.

It is a very cool machine. I've heard of them but never seen one....

Re: Part of the Americana?
Well, my deal worked out.
I got it. Between the 2 Previous owners it was not hurt at all. When checking the condition of the belt (Looked new with No Cracks) It only had a small amount of sawdust in the headstock. The 4" jointer had some cedar Shavings in the crevasses, So it had been used a little bit, the blades on it looked New and sharp. The surface rust in the pictures looks worse than it really is. After I got it home, Just rubbing it with a clean rag removed some of it. It will clean up easy. It will get a good cleaning and some Paste wax for storage preservation. Most of the Main components are all there. Some small stuff, I will choose to purchase. ShopSmith is offering Free shipping for this weekend so, I will take advantage of that.

Re: Part of the Americana?
There were two for sale in my area in the last year. I was tempted but I'm very limited on garage space.
