Charlotte, NC Junkyards

Does anyone know of some good classic truck / car junkyards around the Charlotte, NC area? I haven't run across one in a while. Thanks y'all.

Re: Charlotte, NC Junkyards

I don't really know of any around this area. This is why I love to just get out and take an afternoon drive to see what I can see. I have found several old pickups down around the NC / SC border. You just have to be careful where you stop!

Re: Charlotte, NC Junkyards

there are a few up this way, but most of the trucks have been picked over. as far as cruise ins go, a good friend of mine has some benefit cruise ins through the summer at a local drive in here in town. there is a cruise in every friday night in valdese nc. and the town of lenior nc. has one every other saturday night in the summer months. lots of nice people and rides. me and the family go every chance we get.

Re: Charlotte, NC Junkyards

I know there are cruise ins in Kannapolis 1 saturday each month. There is Coffee and Cars at northlake mall in Charlotte the first sat morning of each month during the summer months. And I know there are small car shows at the local Breusters Ice cream in Cornelius and Mooresville.

Re: Charlotte, NC Junkyards

I was just at pull a part the other day. The few they have are very picked over. One still had the rear end under it, but someone had taken the axles out of it.

Thanks! It's great to have a resource like this to help out and get inspiration while I'm working on the old trucks my Dad left me.
