3 speed in floor back to column

I am new to the site. I fell in love with these trucks when I was 14, I am 42 now. I have recently bought a 70 stepside. I want to keep it as original as possible. Just a plain 3 speed, 6 cylinder. Someone has put the shifter in the floor. I want to put it back on the column. I have read a lot of threads and have not heard of anyone doing this. I would appreciate any feedback on how to do this and where to find the parts. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the board from the great Pacific Northwest!

I can't help you, but good luck finding the shift rods. They're like hens teeth. However, I'm sure if you're patient enough someone will be able to hook you up here.

Re: 3 speed in floor back to column

Welcome to the board from West Tennessee. The reason most people put in a floor shifter is the column shift wears out and starts hanging up. You can adjust them and get more use out of them if you know what you're doing. The problem you have is finding the parts you need to hook it all back up if it's savable. Good luck and maybe someone on board here can help you out.
