Driver side suspension shaking after I hit a pothole

I posted this a few months ago when I would hit this certain railroad track doing about 40 miles an hour driver side wheel hit the track first and it would just start shaking I'd have to slow down for it to stop. I put on reinforcement brackets but those do no good unless the mounting brackets for the shock absorber are okay. The advice I got was that the shocks were bad or the mounting upper hall for the shock absorber was elongated the hole is not elongated the pin that holds the shock absorber was loose so I grounded out and put in and put in a number eight Bolt I replace the upper shock mounting pin, I put on new shocks but the truck is still shaking when I hit a pothole could it possibly be the Coil? this is a lowered 71 C10. It's not dropped it's just lowered, does anybody have any ideas what the problem could be?

My guess would be control arm bushings but certainly some bushing(s) or link end(s) is/are bad

Check for out of round tires or missing tread, and if OK, re-balance the tire and wheel. The shake has to start somewhere, and that requires moving parts.

Ditto. My experience has usually been bent wheels though, I guess I’m lucky like that.

Re: Driver side suspension shaking after I hit a pothole

I don't know much about suspension but it's time to learn. I got under the front end and i believe it's the tie rods, there's play going back and forth. I'm gonna buy a suspension kit from LMC tie rods bushings ball joints Etc is this something I can probably do myself or does this need to be done by a Certified mechanic I do a lot of my homework learning as I go how would you rate the difficulty?

Tie rods and ball joints are pretty easy (you may need to get the lowers pressed in and out at a shop depending on what tools you have), the control arm rods are not easy and require some fairly big tools. I think you should be able to do it, lots of threads on here showing every step of the way.
