Help I'm stuck... literally

Hey guys you've helped me out a lot in the past and I'm hoping you can help me out again.
I have a 69 c-10 longed 296 with Muncie 4 speed. I've been slowly restoring it on the side of my house and starting it up every weekend. I just loaded it up for the first time to move (got a new house) started right up like a champ but when I put it in first and tried to go it felt like,my tires were glued to the ground, it kinda pulled forward like it wanted to go but won't, also tried in reverse and the same thing. I'm parked on dirt and trying to push it in neutral doesnt work either. Only thing I can think of is the brakes siezed....... idk, but if anyone can give me some tips that'd be great, I can't leave my girl to long alone.......

Sounds like brakes have locked onto brake drums, jack up each wheel and try turning,,,find the stuck units, remove tire,,,give the brake drum a whack with a hammer...and try turning again...

I have also seen several times a manual trans truck get stuck by being in two gears at same time...in your case...remove the drive shaft and try moving the truck again...if it now moves, the trans could be stuck in two gears...remove the side cover and reset the shift forks and sliders...

If all else fails and you are really stuck...call a tow company and order an "all up, dolly lift"...they will pick up the rear end and put dolly wheels under the rear end...then pickup the front and two to your new home...

Hint...never adjust new brakes up until you know you are ready to road test...the new linings and brake drums just love to get stuck together...

I just had that happen with my Green '67. Mine was just one wheel that was stuck. I finally got it broke loose by rocking it back and forth.

With one of the front wheels blocked and shift lever in neutral, jack up one rear corner at a time and see if the wheel will turn, if it doesn't take that wheel off and rap around the brake drum with a hammer and see if you can get it to turn. You may have to use a bar on the wheel studs for leverage. If you have a positraction rear you will have to jack up both rear wheels.

You could also try to back off the adjusters inside the rear brakes by using a screwdriver in the slot on the bottom of the drum backing plates.

Yea I know you have to get underneath it.

I just went through that last month. Went to move my truck after it's hibernation and rear drums were seized. I was able to rock it back and forth to free them. I dug out my wheel chocks, that's the last time I leave the emergency brake engaged for an extended period of time.

YES!!!!!!! That's what it was guys, just started rocker her back and forth with my son and it snapped out of it, lol. Thanks a lot for the tip it saved me so much whew!
