Progress
As some of you know I had to replace the frame on my 61 4x4 because it was bent. Here are a few progress pics.

More pics. Last one is how she sits now. Waiting on new fender and grille support so I can get the truck in primer.

Re: Progress
Yea it would be nice if paint stayed nice and new looking. I used rustoleum hammered it did a nice job. Probably not as good as por-15, but its got to be better than what came stock on the frame.

Re: Progress
Are the 4x4 frame rails the same as a 2wd or are they different. I know the suspension is leaf instead of independent. I would like to make my '63 2wd a 4x4 but the only 4x4 frame I can find cheap has rusty rails. I would like to make it look as factory as possible. Can you help me at all?
Thanks Kevin |

Re: Progress
Looking great! I had a 66 4 wheel drive and the chassis burned up in a barn fire. Still have the cab and frontend and title unburned! lol

Re: Progress
62 short step:
Your post inspired me to start another post of the progress on a '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside, I am doing for a fellow stovebolter. Very nice work on your rig. It looks like you are taking your time and doing a very nice build. Should be a excellent rig when you are done. Don't forget to share photos, so we can all lick our chops, drooling over it. Keep up the good work. |

Re: Progress
........Ive used the hammertone paint also and its really tough stuff. Not like standard rattle crap. I see it better in the pic w/ the engine. I used it on my headlite buckets, rear end cover. and some brackets for seats. When some parts didnt want cooperate I was a little rough on them and the paint hung in there.
