Now for the good stuff..part II
Yeah, I know it's another small detail, but I can't help myself. I have to try to make doing the resto stuff exciting somehow. Believe me for a custom truck kinda guy, it's not easy getting excited about this stuff.
So here's my latest addition. Along with another few hours of cleaning the motor and re-routing plug wires. I got new plug wire looms too, but I'll spare you the pics of those...

It's all in the details, stock/resto or custom/rod. This is what makes or breaks it at the shows. I know I'm no judge, but this is what I always look at. The small details. This tells me how much thought the owner put into it. It's easy to over look the small things. Mike |

Mike, you would appreciate the looms. I had 3 different colors on there. They were all OEM, but who knows what year, or what motor.
The dealer had a full set, so I replaced them all. It still looks like a wiring nightmare under there, but that's they way GM made it. Now I have to find some of the correct tape to wrap wires with. The electrical tape I have is to shiney. You can see it from a mile away... |

I spent a year searching through junkyards looking for an overflow bottle for my '86. I assumed it would be ridiculously overpriced at the dealer. I never could find one, so I finally asked about it when I was picking something up at the dealer. It was only about $15. I was shocked. It sure looks better than the old brown one with the hole in the bottom.
Now, if only my truck was running... Slonaker |
