Shaved door handles

Does anyone have any advice on a good shaved door handle setup? I am new to the forum, and will be posting pics of my 67 short step I am in the process of building. I really would like to install a good door popper setup,but have not researched it enough to know what setup work's best. Any help on the change over would be great. Thank's

can't say on these trucks, but my s10 had AVS door poppers. I liked the brand enough, but I'll never have door poppers again. They make universal kits that might work with these trucks. I've never had the mechanism out of the door so I couldn't tell you for sure.

How come you say that? Do they not work?

I just purchased a 72 blazer with shaved door handles and in operative door poppers. The PO jerry rigged a lot of the wiring and pulled out the alarm.

I need to install new door poppers and control unit. I am looking for good/bad
recommendations.

It is a little old climbing through the rear hatch to get in my blazer. hahaha

I have used Autolöc kits dozens of times. They have a lot of kits to pick from, as simple or sophisticated as you could want.
They work great, have great directions, strong solenoids, etc.

I agree with autoloc and there is a guy on here and ebay (here is infanti designs) that sells really really nice pre-made pieces to shave the door handles, firewall, stake pockets, and gas filler cap holes.

I have also used Autoloc and Infanti filler plates. Most part failures are from poor installation. I had a door popper and a pull solenoid fail on a truck I bought. The popper failed because it was mounted at an upward angle while the door curvature was the opposite (95 Silverado) so the door was pushing up against the popper when closing and broke the rod. The solenoid was mounted in an awkward position where it was not pulling straight. When installed properly they should last a long time. Another thing is most people buy the cheaper basic kit with underpowered solenoids and wimpy poppers, They make some nice upgrades in the more expensive kits.

If you do shave your handles make sure to get the emergency cable operated popper for when your battery dies. Much cheaper than a new window and disable any power locks.

Since I have blazer it doesn't really ever lock up. You can always get through the hatch. haha. Only one side of my hatch latches. If you pull real hard it would open without key.

Autloc is the brand I should be buying. thx for that. Is there a model you recommend or how many lbs the solenoid should be?
