Anyone seen an Aux fuel tank like this?
Hey, just got this 3/4 71 GMC and I've never seen "saddle" tanks like this. Pretty sure these are aftermarket but just wanted to check with you guys. There were 2 tanks in the bed of the truck and you can see where I already removed one. New to this forum and so far have found a ton of great info. Thanks

Re: Anyone seen an Aux fuel tank like this?
I had 2 of them in my truck, they ran up to a 3 way valve by the drivers seat. I took them out and sent them to the metal recycler. Should have kept them, they could be collectors

Looks like they could be easily replicated by a good sheet metal or fabricator shop if someone wanted an extra tank.

They are aftermarket accessory tanks.Like any vintage accessory they have a value.I have a pair in the back of a Blazer.

Mine had two as well when I got it. They're long gone now.

Re: Anyone seen an Aux fuel tank like this?
blast and poly liner the bed and tanks and reinstall.....that is very different from what you see today and they are tucked out of the way! if you have overdrive, you could probably cross the country on 3 fill ups!
