Steering box replacement

I just swapped steering boxes on my 71, with the old factory box I could make a u-turn in 1 1/2 lanes. Now with the new box (from O'Reilly's) it takes 2 1/2 lanes to make a u-turn. Does anybody sell a correct factory type box, I want my turning radius back!!!!!

Re: Steering box replacement

Same turning radius both ways?? Didn't loose anything other than lots of leaks and sloppy steering with a replacement on my Jimmy.

Re: Steering box replacement

Yeah I lost some radius turning both ways. Guess that's what I get for shopping at Kragen...

Is it possible that you had a Quick Steering Box installed? The replacement box isn't? Just a thought?
