Plug wires and Hooker Headers

Hi guys I just ordered my Hooker Comp Headers with 1 5/8" primaries to 2.5" collectors. My question is, do I need to run straight boots or can I run a 90* boot if I run them along the valve covers. Thanks, Justin

i have same set-up. found 90s work best. third plug back on d/s works best if you point boot straight down i then used a straight wire seperater and twisted 90 degree and hooked one end to a brake line, or depending on looms you use you can swap 3 and 4 as they come up to valve cover. still keep number 3 pointed down. both ways keep them off header and look neat and uniform. i could e-mail you a pic if you need.

P.S. What looms are you using? I was thinking about a vertical holder that runs along the valve cover.

I am careful to keep the wires snug from the plug to the looms. I and using MSD's. Some wires like Taylors have pretty big boots that are very close to the headers.

Yes they are coated headers. Done by Airborne Coatings in Okla for a little over $200 for the pair. Send them to them and there is about a 2 week turn around. You can actually use Scotch Bright pads on them and polish like you would aluminum. I wouldn't recomend anyone else. The guy that runs this company if I understand correctly was one of the founders of Jet Hot.

The looms ofn the six looks like they would work real well. Not so sure I would run them the way they have them.

I have the same Headers, here's a shot of mine from the passenger side, sorry i don't have a picture showing the driver side. I hope this helps a little.

OK pkj, I did get your pictures now. Thank you for sending me those, those help alot. That is going to be an awesome little truck! I really like that Air Cleaner! Thanks to you other guys for postin pics, it seems like everyone's doing just about the same deal.

Not that it really matters now since I already ordered mine, but I'll ask anyway, Do you guys like your headers?

Also, did anyone use the supplied power steering pump spacer? Hol long of a bolt will I need to use that?

I love my Ceramic Hookers, they look great now after being on the truck for 4 years or so, & they sound great with my 2.5" exhaust & flowmasters, & since their the shortys, they keep my exhaust up off of the ground. I can't answer the bolt question, I didn't install it.
