67 Door trim help required
Can someone post what a plain jane 67 C10 would have had on the inside of the doors. Mine have been badly recovered in vinyl at sometime and as I'm putting in new carpet and tidying up the interior when the weather gets better I want to sort the doors out now as it's something I can do indoors of an evening. It feels like it has a horizontally ribbed panel underneath the vinyl.
I know one door has been replaced at sometime as one door top above the panel has vinyl on it and the other is painted and one vent has the 67 handle the other the later type. I'll probably just re-cover both so they match as otherwise I'll have to re-paint the door.

Plain Jane 67s just had a steele interior door panel, with a painted steel chanel on top. The chanel on top was screwed directly to the door with 4 phillip's head screws. The top of the door panel slipped into this channel, and had 4 chrome plated 1/4" machined "V" head screws that held the door panel to the bottom of the door. In 1967, arm rest were an option, so if yours was a plain jane, it may not of had those. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

It feels like the original steel panels are underneath the vinyl, but it looks like the channel has disappeared as the panels are screwed on at the top as well. It does have armrests which I may just repaint with some vinyl dye as physically there OK just the colour is a little worn. I'm not fussed about it looking original as painted steel may add to my already bad condensation problem (no headliner) I may just get some very thin foam and some fabric to match the seat and glue it to the panel so it follows the contours of the steel panel.
