Looking to add Driver Information Center
Hello everyone. I recently acquired a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500hd LT.
I've been doing some research, and see some are adding the dic from denalis or escalades to these trucks. Do I need the dic from a 2001 specifically, or will others work? Thanks

Re: Looking to add Driver Information Center
Assume you mean the Instrument cluster
Your truck is a 1st gen GMT800 (1999-2002) GM made a serious change to the electronics and gave the GMT800 pickup trucks interior a facelift in 2003 including more functionality in the DIC. The 99-02 1st gen T800 electronics are not compatible with a lot of the 03-07 2nd gen T800 stuff. Things to keep in mind. The 1999 & 2000 Escalade was a late GMT400 platform SUV. The 2002-2006 Escalade was a GMT800. Given the above I would think you need to look at the 2002 Escalade for a swap cluster in your truck and it probably won't have the DIC functions of the 2003-2006 clusters. Maybe someone else has a bunch more information but that's what it looks like from the cheap seats.
