Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
That 'll be the best bang for the buck $77.00 you spend on your truck. You'll feel the difference right away after the sway bar is installed.

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
i bought CPP sway bars for my 72 Burb C20, but think I might have gone this route if I'd known about it 3 years ago. The big bar is from a 73-87 1 ton or camper special, from what I hear.
And it would be cool to find a good size factory GM rear bar that would fit on our trucks with trailing arms instead of leaf springs. So whoever tries that rear bar out needs to let us all know.... |

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
How big is that rear bar Ray? I've heard you want 70-80 % of the front. I'll try to do some checking on this to make sure this would fit. Hopefully someone sees it that has done that to let us know. How much would you want for it?

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
This factory rear sway bar came from the same truck that the front one you are buying came from so it should be porportionally correct. I measured the frame on a 70 3/4 ton and its about 31 1/2" in between the frame rails where the sway bar mounts and its 31 1/2" center to center on the sway bar ends. Its very close to fitting with no mods.

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
Hey thanks for doing that! It really shouldn't matter if the truck that you took it from was leaf springs and mine is coil should it?? Do you know the thickness of this bar?

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
The bar is 1 1/16". It uses the factory round u bolts on the 74. I would think you could use round u bolts going around the bottom of the axle and then use the round u bolt brackets on the top since there is no leaf on top or you can fab up your own bracket.

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
Is that price for both front and rear? So it would be 150 total?

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
To avoid confusion, I have 2 bars. The one with pics posted in this thread is going to Ryan and I have a loose one without brackets going to John. The bars are identical, but I will post a pic of the 2nd bar.
Thanks, Ray |

Re: 1 1/4" Sway Bar
I thought the big bar was the one in the first post with brackets?
