High hump/Low hump is the hump in the floor of the cab, over the trans. Big block trucks, 4speeds, and 4x4s had high hump, and all others had low hump if I'm not mistaken. Welcome from Louisiana, by the way.

high hump was generally installed in a truck with a big block motor and t-400 trans...the hump is bolted in (at least it is on mine) and is taller than the "low" hump. Hope this helps...

This is a list of 67-72 Pickups, Blazers, Suburbans, and Panels that were stock with a "Low Hump":
All 2 wheel drives with a 6 cylinder engine and a 3 speed manual or automatic transmissions. All 2 wheel drives with a small block V-8 and a 3 speed manual or automatic transmissions. This is a list of 67-72 Pickups, Blazers, Suburbans, and Panels that were stock with a "High Hump" All 2 wheel drives with a Big Block V-8. (Doesn't matter which transmission) All 2 wheel drives with 4 speed manual transmissions. All 4 wheel drives. (Doesn't matter what engine size or which transmission) *Note: All "High Humps" are bolted to the floor and all "Low Humps" were actually formed as part of the floor. I copied and pasted this from our "Tips" section of our website.... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com High Hump Left and Low Hump Right....

Don't be scared by what the factory did though.
I've done two trucks now with big blocks and turbo 400s under a low hump cab. They fit fine as long as you ave fresh cab mounts that aren't allowing the cab to sag.

I have seen more than one GMC like mine... originally a V-6 and TH400, in a 1/2 ton truck...high hump.

Ok, thanks for the information. Looks like I'm going to be spending a little more time in the "Tips" section. Thanks again for clearing this up for me.
