Before and after the drop
Here's a couple pix of my '67 before the 2/4 drop coils were put on, and after. I did remount the shocks but did not have to get an adjustable tracking bar. I'm ready to put another motor in it, and just realized that I need a rear sump pan, and the motor I have is a front sump pan, so now I have to get an oil pump. I'll probably replace the pickup screen and the pump drive shaft because the motor is used, and I might as well if I'm replacing the pump. The money pit continues. But that's O.K, someday I'll be done.

How hard was the spring install? How long did it take you?

Re: Before and after the drop
I didn't do it - I just didn't have time and wanted to get it done, but I know a lot of guys have done it on here. I don't think it's too complicated, but if I were gonna do it, a lift is nice to have, and jack stands, and a buddy - and if you do it be sure to replace the trailing arm and tracking arm bushings, you might as well. BTW, I can definiitely tell a ride difference with the new springs, and it handles quite a bit better.

Re: Before and after the drop
Nice stance -- the tires look pretty tall, what size are they?
I eventually want a stance with about that much tire-fender clearance, but tire size plays a big factor in keeping that amount of clearance where I'd like it. |

31". I'm going to put a little wider in the back and a little narrower in the front - they are 10.5 X R15LTMS Generals al around right now.

BTW, I thought this was your truck with different rims until I did a double take! I found this pic on the net a while back.

Re: Before and after the drop
Looks much better. I didnt think you had to do the shock relocate or the adjustable track bar until you dropped 6''

Re: Before and after the drop
I wasn't sure on the track bar, but it worked out, and I just did the shock relocate, so I would have a little less angle.

Re: Before and after the drop
This is the only drop I like. I have the 2/4 drop coils in the shop and they're going on the 67 someday. I thought you had to have the trackbar and have never heard of the shocks having to relocate. Do you have pics of what you did?
On the track bar...are the wheels still centered in the wheelwells? No handling issues I guess?

Re: Before and after the drop
I did a 3/4 drop and the adjustable track bar ended up the exact lenth as the stock bar when the wheels were centered. I wish I would have known that before I laid down my money. They do handle alot better with the drop but if you don't have sway bars you would be amazed at how much better they handle with them on. I replaced my stock front sway bar with a heavyer one and instaled a rear one also. It is a night and day difference. You can buy them in a kit or search the forum for junkyard info that are just as good or better in some cases. Nice Truck!!

Re: Before and after the drop
Looks really good. I think the shock re-locate kit does quite a bit for the handling. with the stock mounts, the shocks really 'flatten' out with a drop, but are at a much better angle with the kit in.
