1970 C10 Hood Alignment
Bought new rubber bumpers / stops for hood. After replacing rubber pieces I had to adjust hood latch to get hood to close. Now when closed the back of the hood sits up about a half an inch too high. Will rubber piece eventually settle or do I need more adjustment? What's the best method to adjust hood if it is needed?

It's easier with two people.
Loosen the two bolts at the rear of the hinges while pushing up on the front of the hood. The rear of the hinges will move down. It may take a couple of times to get it right.

Before ya loosen the hinges besure they are lubed up well, its often overlooked, mine did the same thing after i reinstalled it and had the hinge locations marked well, and when i lubed them up it went back to its normal adjustment

Some of the replacement hood side bumpers are too thick and won't let the hood close correctly. If it closed OK before, adjustments will not help it with these bumpers installed. LockDoc

Hi Leon - I think I may need adjustments anyway because 3 of the 4 hood stops were missing when I started the replacements and the hood was laying even front to back. The truck is at a location I get to every couple of weeks - I'll let you know how it goes - thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Yea, I was annoyed how the hood had a "clunk - snap" when closing, before I sprayed oil on the hood hinges, now it looks like this. This a lesson to leave alone unless it totally breaks? LOL
The '48 I had, there was a trick using 2x4s to adjust the hood.
