its got the whole ball of wax... the complete tubular rear, and the tubular front control arms, with the hollow sway bar. they also did the cpp four wheel disc brake kit. and they put in a Bowler 4L80E automatic transmission... still gonna keep the factory six in it

Probably a stupid question,but,,,,will a basic bag setup with a notch and drop spindles sit this low?

I have tried Grey, Green and Red scotchbrite ... as well as 800, 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit and none of them get the desired effect on the test pieces I have done.

Sure, they sand it down smooth ... but they don't give the "weathered / streaked" appearance I have seen on some.

Shane... try setting it out in the sun for 40 years!

That should yield the desired look!

Rats! Beat me to it.

Or... dry-brush on some oil or vaseline. Brush needs to be verrrrrrrrrrrrrry rough cut and verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry dry (I've used one brush to brush oil on another, then shake out the working brush really hard for several minutes, then dab it off on a rag until it's practically dry). Brush the area you're going to paint, use sign painter's ink for all the lettering, let it dry, then come back with the ScotchBrite. The oil will let some of the paint break free. The ScotchBrite will give it the general scuff look. Voila.

Yeah that is the same look I am going for on my project "texas pete" I love the swade paint and weathered graffix.

we just took scotch brite to the whole thing and then had a local guy do some patina painting on it

Man,that`s right up my ally.Or,should I saw,"down my ally.That`s faded Woodland Green.Usually right ugly faded,but not here.It was so typical on older trucks it adds to the road veteran look.

It's TRUE! My truck isn't even together and I'm planning what's "next".

But that is what makes these trucks so great, there's always SOMETHING you can change to make it a little bit better.
