Looking for numbers on my 350, none there!

Just pulled my 350 and can't find a numer anywhere on it, it has no numbers in any of the traditional spots, any ideas what's going on?

Re: Looking for numbers on my 350, none there!

It was likely decked but should have the casting number behind the drivers head.

Nothing there except "GM" and the date code clock. No other numbers anywhere.

Later model engines have the casting number towards the top of the bell housing flange, like an 880 vortec or slightly earlier roller compatible block.

You also might find the last three numbers of the casting number on the side of the block above the pan rail.

Is the block smoother out all over? The PO may have wanted to make it pretty.

It hasn't been cleaned up, still see all the casting pits. No numbers on the cast in tags, they're all blank!

I don't know, it has newer exhaust manifolds. There's not a number on it anywhere. I'm sure it has been decked and that took the numbers off the front but there's not another number on it anywhere, the only markings are the date code clock on the drive side rear of the block and "GM" to the left of it. I see a couple of areas where numbers are supposed to be but not a single number.
