Belltech 3120 drop spindle fit my truck?!?! Have 30 minutes to decide.

Amazon has Belltech's 3120 3" drop spindle for a really good price and I had some Amazon credit so I hastily pulled the trigger. They are for the 1.25" rotor which I'm not exactly sure if I have.

Can anyone tell me what likely came on a base model 4.1L/250 6 cylinder 1/2 ton truck in 1971? I know that's a long shot but I have 30 minutes to cancel order.

I'm thinking you should be good. looks like 71-72 fit, no problemo. I'd do new upper and lower balljoints, new tire rod ends too while you have it apart.

Thanks, Chad. I think they will, too. I just freaked a little bc I haven't measured my rotor. Plan to rebuild the whole front end while I'm in there. Thanks!

You have 1 1/2" spindles. 1 1/4" is for 73-87 light duty. WES

Probably why they were on sale. Not a lot of light duty trucks around. WES

WTF?

ALL 71-72 1/2 ton trucks use the same 1.25" thick rotor

Wes,...
Belltech #3120 is a "71-72 only" HD spindle (1-1/4" rotor width)
Belltech #3100 is the 73-87 HD spindle.
Belltech #3200 is the light duty 1" rotor spindle for 73-87 applications.
(actually it's more like 81-87)

There is no 1-1/2" wide rotor.

Re: Belltech 3120 drop spindle fit my truck?!?! Have 30 minutes to decide.

I would imagine you'd have to also run some larger wheels with 3" drop spindles since I've heard of people having clearing issues with 2.5" drop spindles & 15" wheels...

Not really.
I've been using Belltech 3" drop spindles with 15" wheels for over 25 years.
I just trim the lower a-arm, just like I do with 2.5" drop spindles,...
and use a 15" wheel with no more than a 4" backspace.

Good to know. This is the first I've heard of 3" spindles.
