Which wire is the "start wire"?
Which wire is the "start" wire on the ignition switch of a '72? It appears to be the purple wire from the wiring diagram but I need to verify.

I can't say right now that it's purple at the switch but it's certainly purple at the starter.

My haynes manual shows it to be purple. May I ask why you need to verify?

The Painless instructions say the "start" wire. I guess I better call them and talk through the instructions. Thanks for the scan!

Instead of splicing, you could cut the plug off the neutral safety switch, (same purple wire) and use femail spaid connectors, and on one of them, you run two wires into the crimp on connector. One being the purple, and one being the ECM wire.
