shock mounts

I am having some trouble with Belltech. I bought a drop kit including shocks. The canitlever shock mount is to small 1/2" The holes in the frame are 5/8" do you guys know where I can find some shock mounts. I called my dealer and they can't get them. Belltech says they do not carry them. need some help. The front are pressed and I broke one of the rear so I only have one mount that could be used. I would like new. need some help

thanks

Re: shock mounts

The problem is about using the old ones, the fronts are pressed in the shock and I broke one of the rears. As for getting them off another trucks I guess mine is a little different because it was built in Canada, that is why I have the 5/8" hole. thanks for the tips

Re: shock mounts

Call belltech. If their stuff doesn't work, they need to fix it or give you at least some money back.

Only way I've been able to obtain the shock mounts (special bolt through the frame) was with a new set of shocks. I hunted and hunted around and couldn't find any and went to buy the shocks and GOOD they came with the shocks.

Re: shock mounts

Ive heard them refered to P-19 pin. Or get one of these, 4 wheel drive with dual shocks. the second shock bracket is kind of neat too

Re: shock mounts

I don't quite understand your situation, but my truck was built in Canada, and my shock mounts came with my shocks. I have replaced them twice with no problems.

Are you sure your holes aren't just wallowed out a bit from having loose mounts flopping around in them?

Re: shock mounts

They are not wallowed out. when I got my kit I checked the studs and they were 1/2" and the frame hole was 5/8" so I called Belltech and they do not make a 5/8" stud. So I called Monroe suspension and they sent me some information on the right size stud. So I have that covered. When I first called Belltech about that issue the first question they asked is if the truck was built in Canada. So I need to order the new studs from Monroe and hopefully Belltech will make it right considering I spent over $600 for a kit that was supposed to bolt in and I have spent about 2 weeks dealing with this issue and now have to pay about $30 for the studs. So if anyone needs some 1/2" studs I have some extra. I measured the old studs with a micrometer to be sure they are 5/8"

Re: shock mounts

Do you have a set of 4? I can buy new and stillen who I bought the dropkit from said they will try to pay for the studs, but they have not said for sure. So if you have some I will just do that to save the hassel. thanks

Re: shock mounts

Easiest and quickest way to get them is to go buy some $15 shocks from your local parts store. They have them with them. Sell the shocks at the next swap meet for almost what you paid for them...

Re: shock mounts

I just measured a spare set I have, and they are 5/8. I don't understand how a Canadian built truck and a USA built one could have different shock mounts. I have replaced my shocks a few times, and never asked for anything special. If 5/8 is not what they typically come with, how do I keep getting the right ones? It sounds to me like Belltech just sent you the wrong ones.

Re: shock mounts

Belltech told me they researched it. I bought the kit from Stillen.com and they talked to belltech and they told me the same thing stock is 1/2" I am going to go to the autoparts place this week and see if they have a set of stock shocks in stock and look at the pin. if belltech is jacking me around it is time to go higher on the management train thanks guys

Slonaker I took your advice and decided to go check out a stock shock. Went to Autozone, I know I just figured it was easiest. They had one in stock and it had a 5/8" stud. I got straight in the phone and called the management and told them my dissatifaction with the sales guy I was dealing with. He is going to look into it and call me back. So after getting screwed around for a couple weeks now we will see what they come up with. Thanks for the pointers
