I would like to get a K5 Blazer someday, and I was just wondering what a drivable one in fair condition would cost. I live in CA, and I hardly ever see any blazers. The last one I saw for sale was in a used car lot that only nad 67-72 trucks. It was actually a Jimmy, and the rockers were totaly rusted out but they still wanted $5000 for it.

Go to http://www.traderonline.com , select the collector car section, type in 1969 to 1972 Chevrolet Blazer, and there are a ton of them for sale there. You will get a quick idea of the value. $5000 would be a good price for a Blazer with a clean body and decent mechanicals. Some people have scored them for less. I paid $4000 for mine about 5 years ago. It needed one rocker, and a small hole in the door patched, but otherwise is very clean. It even has solid rocker boxes.

There were some nice ones from $2700 to about $6000. Is there a model kit of the blazer? I won't be able to get a real one for a while, but I think it would be fun to build a model of one and see how the stuff I would want to do to it would look.

You can get a fairly nice Blazer for the $ you want to spend. You just have to be careful and really shop around. I paid $4000 for mine last year. It is almost rust free, has a mild built 350, a 6" lift and 35" tires. I think I got a pretty good deal. The condition of the body, frame, etc is the most important since many of the parts can be hard to find, engines can be replaced fairly easily.
