So I was told....
a turbo 350 has a kickdown cable and a turbo 400 doesnt. I have really never looked to see if that is true or not.
If that is true whats the deal?

Re: So I was told....
That is true. A 400 has a electric kickdown switch.

Re: So I was told....
As "Bishop's" says: That is true. The turbo 400 electric kick-down switch is mounted on the bracket under the dash that holds the gas pedal. As a side note, I have seen severaly original TH350 trucks that have the switch but no wiring going to it. They apparently installed the switches in all of the trucks, whether or not they were getting a TH 400.

Re: So I was told....
Lokar makes a kickdown switch for the TH400, if you are unable to find/fabricate the carb mount. There are people who have rigged up switches that the accelerator pedal activates, in the cab. Or, you could do like me and just live without it. I had my transmission "tuned up" by an old drag racer and we just put the smallest (least vacuum) modulator on it and it works okay. In my "prime" it wouldn't have been good enough, but in my golden years, it's good.

Re: So I was told....
Well I found an 84 truck with a 350/400 setup. It runs great and the guy offered me the whole thing for $600.
