radiator questions

Hey gang I need more advice. Finishing my 68 and got to installing factory radiator and just did not look good with all my other new goodies. Added a/c and thinking about going with aluminum replacement. Has anyone done this, good idea or bad? Is one made to fit in factory saddles and straps? did you use A trans cooler or go with a radiator that cools tranny as well. LOts of choices so please tell me what you did and are you happy with it.
Thanks
Gary

Re: radiator questions

Factory 4 core with internal and external trans coolier's. Automatic's like cooling. I've had the 700-R4 now for about 10 years with no trouble.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: radiator questions

I've got the factory 4-core with a large (MK8) electric fan and so far it cools ok. I've got my a/c working now and it doesn't seem to heat up much more, but the nuclear part of the year is over. I have the factory trans cooler in the rad tank.
We'll see how it does next summer....
