I have a small leak on the motor i picked up. Its at the bottom of the timing chain cover and the top of the oil pan. What gasket do i need to replace?

I'd do both. Did someone do an in-frame cam swap? It's most likely the rubber seal on the timing cover that seals the cover at the corners of the oil pan. It's a very common leak when someone does a cam swap.

You could try to loosen up the pan bolts so it will drop down a little, then install the timing cover first, then tighten the pan back up.

*** Edit - I see you said it's on a motor "I picked up". In that case, I would definitely go ahead and replace both the oil pan and timing cover gaskets while it's out of the vehicle. Much easier to do it now, and it's cheap insurance against another possible leak.

I would recommend the Fel-Pro one piece oil pan gasket as well, I used it and it never leaked on me.

Thanks i think ill replace both. Every nut and bolt on this motor was finger tight. I tightned all of them up and it really slowed the leak.

ok next question. Looking at the motor it looks like the gap between the time chain cover and oil pan takes one gasket. Is it the same gasket in both sets?? Or is there acutually two diff gaskets? I hope that makes sense

If its the 350 there are two different oil pans and you will need to know which oil pan you have. usually the gasket set comes with both seals.
Sorry I missed your point the two different seals are at the rear of the engine. The two seals you're talking about should be the same

That rubber end seal will be included with the oil pan gasket set. There are actually two different front rubber gaskets used depending on the oil pan. Felpro gaskets come with both of them and how to measure your pan to determine which of the two to use.
