Shop Truck Logo
I decided to put logos on the doors of my truck. I hate to use the word "patina" because some folks have strong feelings around it ..lol. I drew this design and then submitted it to a sign company for digitization and had them make the vinyl stencils. I am part way through the install and will finish up the aging process tonight. I think it looks cool? what are you thoughts? ill post more photos when they are complete.

Re: Shop Truck Logo
Nice. I have also thought about doing something like this on Homer (my 68) if I end up keeping him. I wouldn't want to put something on it that would deter some from making an offer.
But I definitely like the look. I always put Rusty Nutz down when a site asks for "business name". My wife just shakes her head when a package comes addressed to "my business".

Re: Shop Truck Logo
I love it, questions though. they made the stencil, but did you stick it on and paint the letters? with a brush or spray? what kind of paint? how will you age it? if you dont mind me asking, how much did it cost to have the stencil made? ( ball park) I WANT ONE!!

As far as cost goes, it was $30 to digitize and around $30.00 a door for the stencil |

Re: Shop Truck Logo
That came out great. One shot is tough stuff. I think if I went this route, with a stencil, I'd use spray paint. It will be easier to sand way and surely fade on it's own

Re: Shop Truck Logo
Great looking truck and a nice job on the logos. I eyeball my 69 short step and keep thinking some sort of diff oriented logo is needed, but have not been able to work up the courage!

Re: Shop Truck Logo
Looks good! I like it! After seeing this method, I believe this is the route for me. Can't decide if I want to do the exact lettering on my grandpa's truck or a variation.

Re: Shop Truck Logo
Yes, I sanded the edges and such with 600 wet dry and then went over the whole thing with a red scuff pad and comet. You cant really mess it up, it just depends on how much you want to bleed through and where. Good luck!

Re: Shop Truck Logo
That's really cool!!! If anyone doesn't like your patina'd look, you can let them know they're free to do whatever they want to their truck.

Re: Shop Truck Logo
That looks great, I use to not like the look of patina, but in the last few years it's growed on me a lot. That's a great logo you designed too....

Re: Shop Truck Logo
What technique did you use to age the paint? I'm in the final design stage and want to learn as much as I can before painting anything.
