Re: Question for everyone.

1/2 ton..3/4 ton...4x4 any pics? Is the engine running and good? Can you do a compression test? It's pretty to say if it worth it or not cause everybody's has different values on what things are worth. IMO--I wouldn't pay that much.

Re: Question for everyone.

If the body is shot, you are basically buying an engine of unknown condition, even though it runs. Off hand I would say no, it is not worth it.

Re: Question for everyone.

if it is a running driving truck, then it is worth 800... as a truck.
As a restoration or resto mod platform, you have to look at what you can use. A good rolling frame can set you back a few bills, a strong yet unknown motor and tranny can be a few more bills, and all the other pieces there that can be used may well put you at over 1000 bucks... in parts.
Again, pics would help a ton, but in the end, it's your money, you need to realisticly look at the truck as the heap (?) it is now, and the end result you want, your skills in getting it to that point, and/or the funds you have to get it there.
