8lug c20 drop (I've searched)
I've been searching for the past couple days but there is not that much information on lowering an eight lug custom camper 1971 c20 Chevy truck. For the past month I've been reading a lot about these trucks and I would like to lower it about 6 inches in the rear. I think there's about 8 leaf springs in the rear. Would removing a few leaf springs and adding drop spindles to the front give me at least a 5 inch drop all around?

Re: 8lug c20 drop (I've searched)
Hey Joe,
I flipped the axle and removed all leafs except for three or four and cut two coils off of the front springs to get the stance you see in the photo attached. CPP c-notches were used to give travel room in the rear. I think two coils off of the front is too much also. I plan to put real lowering springs and lowering spindles on the front and also re-install the full leaf spring pack and use lowering blocks to get the ride height where I want. I hope this helps! PS - here are a couple good threads: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=403279 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=419051 |

Re: 8lug c20 drop (I've searched)
Years Ago I spoke with National Spring Co. in Santee and talked to them about De-arching the springs. I eventually decided to wait because I will probably convert to a 5 lug rear and go with a 4 link.
good luck
