part# fuel sending unit

Hi,
I´m asking for a friend. He need a new fuel sending unit for his 72 Cheyenne 402/TH400.
Would anyone have the GM part# for it, don´t know if they still are available though.
The parts guy at Sweden’s biggest Chevy dealer said the 72 Chevy pickups never came with the 402 big block!!! Maybe he only saw 400 in the parts list and didn´t know the 402´s were named 400.

Thanks

The 402ci engine was definitely an option in 72 (suffix code TKB or TLM). It had a whopping 210 HP. I would recommend ordering a sending unit from http://www.gmcpauls.com/fuel_tank_&_related.htm ($42.95). I just bought one a couple of weeks ago and it worked great. Just make sure the truck was originally equipped with the V8 and not an S6, otherwise the fuel line will be the wrong diameter.

Thanks for the reply. I guess if he won´t find it anywhere in Sweden he will order it from US. I tell him about this one at GMCPauls.

Thanks
