gotta love ebay!!!! i save 1200 bucks with just a few buys!!!

this is wonderful. my project thus far has been primarily done through ebay. i am in iraq so cant do much for swapmeets and what not. i am trying to build a bang for the buck truck that looks good as new. here is a list of all i have bought from ebay and the prices in which i acquired them.

flamed billet valve covers and air cleaner:
retail-over 200 ebay-39.50
b&m z-gate shifter
retail- 102 in jegs ebay-60.01
holley 750 carb and edelbrock fuel pump
retail-an arm and a leg ebay-114.49
one 1970 1/2 longbed chevy pickup in decent shape
retail-iwas expecting atleast 1500 ebay-710.50

i just did the math and if i would have ordered all products new and not gotten a steal on my truck, i would have spent 1200 dollars more on this project already. now i am not saying i want to build a complete ebay vehicle, but i am going to say it is the best resource to hunt down a great deal. the numbers dont lie. i have freed up 1200 bucks with just four ebay purchases. thats what i am talking about. just note that i am not a cheap guy. i have shelled out the dough for some other nice pieces on my truck. elelbrock eps permastar intake/gasket set $232 at jegs. b&m 2000 stall converter was $102 at jegs. have all new accel spark plug wires and lots of little goodies on this truck.

Cool deals, Justin.

My Ebay purchases have not been as extensive, but I just picked up nearly new (could not tell it had ever been hooked up) tach. I was about to pick it up new for $35 at AZone but I got it off Ebay for $11 shipped!

Now I have a tach and $24 extra bucks to fill the tank!

BTW, thanks for looking out for the rest of us.

When you get back, you'll have to make ebay work the other way for you. Selling stuff for way more than it's worth LOL.

I use ebay with the idea that anything I make selling, I can spend buying. Keeps my garage clean, and my buying under control.

Wow! It's just like the ebay ads that used to run in Hot Rod.

Today I received my 1967 Chassis Service Manual for $11.40 shipped.
