Truck bucket seat brackets?
Are there under the cab brackets for 69-72 truck buckets? None of the holes in my floor line up for the buckets and I dont just want to drill new holes. Any ideas?

Re: Truck bucket seat brackets?
Drill new holes and put large washers on the under side of the cab. It will be fine, you just want to spread out the load.

Re: Truck bucket seat brackets?
If you are that concerned about the load on the floors make some seat braces out of some sheetmetal. that is what I will be doing on my 70 if and when I find my buckets and console for that thing. I'm a big ole boy, 6'3 350lbs so I think the bracing won't hurt. Jim

Re: Truck bucket seat brackets?
on my 70 i built a frame out of 1" square tubing to fit on the bench seat brackets and mounted both buckets out of a dodge shadow to that. both seats move together. in the center is a "dog platform" also useful for storage. it doesn't look "factory", but then nothing i own looks "factory"....
can send pics if anyone is interested. |

Re: Truck bucket seat brackets?
Yes there is a extra support across the underside of the cab, but it only bolts to the inner front seat bolts. There are also small brackets that help support the other seat bolts.

Re: Truck bucket seat brackets?
There is an underside bracket but I don't think it will help line up the bolt holes. I think there is a pic in my build thread when I cut my floor out.

Re: Truck bucket seat brackets?
Even on a factory bucket seat truck, the holes were pre drilled for a bench then filled with a phillips head bolt. The bucket seat had special brackets that Jason and I have had manufactured. PM for details. Paul

I have one of those cross backets but its a little chewed up on the ends. You can have it for the cost of shipping if you like...
