Well I thought maybe if I put a build thread up I might get my ass in gear.
Its a medium olive stripper model 71. Here is a pic the day I brought her home in june of this year.

Here is the donor 72 I picked up a month later, I was going to just swap the tubs, but the 71 is not "as bad" as I first thought. Im just going to cut up the 72 and use the exterior panels.

Over the past month I have fixed the wiring from the PO's. Its running and charging good now, but I think the cam might have a few wiped lobes. One of the PO's swaped the six/3OT combo for a 8/turbo 350. One thing I noticed after looking at a few C10's is during the swap they put the engine in the rearmost position, which I like, there is still clearance behind the hei. Last week I picked up a new truck floor from a local supplier. Last night I started cutting out the "good" side of the floor.

Plans are to get rid of the holes in the floor, fix up the interior and drive it.
Over the winter its getting bagged.

I actually got some things done the past few weekends.
Got some of the floor cut out. Got the auto column put in out of the donor, put a new masterpower unit in.

Nice! Make sure the outside leading edges of the toe area, right where the pan meets up to the factory seam, is straight with the rest of the pan. When i installed the prototype on their truck i had to fool with that area. It was an area about 6-8" long....maybe they fixed it once it went into production, told them to

I am kind of concerned with fitment of the panel. I have left what is not rusted off of the original alignment features. Any way you can circle an image of the floor where you are reffering to? I have an idea its around the toe patch that I have put in. I should have the panel in by new years. Just measured the bench seat mounts and see they are not in the right spot for the buckets (in towards the center about 1.5"). so now I have to relocate them.

Understand, the panel I have does not look to bad in that area, but wont know until I get it in there, kinda bummed the seat mounting holes where in the wrong spot, killed my momentum yesterday.

Over new years I got the floor all prepped and put in. What a PITA, took forever to get the seat bracing cut out and positioned in the new pan. I cut/formed the rear of the pan almost exactly like the old floor was.

Managing the whole floor in one piece by myself was a chore, but its done.

Got a little discouraged, my dad sent a CL link to a nice looking 72 white 2wd in SC. His asking price was less than what I have wrapped up in this one. I called the day after the ad was posted and it was gone.

Drilled all the spot welds out of the rear truck brace, man that thing is sandwiched in there. Used the plasma to cut the rear of the floor in the center of that brace. From there I just trimmed the floor back till it was the length of the original, formed up the lip with a HVAC duck bill vise grip.

Some updates, the floor is all finished up and new seats are in. Made some mounts for the rear seat since mine never had any. Took it out for a first run and the pump dogs in the th350 broke off. I will be getting a 200-4R for it. Figured I would do the brake lines while deciding on a trans. The only company that said they had the patterns for a 2wd blazer was inline tube. I was installing them tonight and the front to rear line is 2ft too long. It must be for a short bed p/u. I will see if I can get that straightened out tomorrow.

Nice progress, i have to replace my front to rear brake line, any help? I see where you were using in line tube, but had a problem. Mine is 4WD so maybe theyll have the right line
