Re: wow $35,000!

What is the mill thickness on 13 coats of clear?

And how burried is the Hartbeat logo because that has to go

Other than that it is a very nice truck.

If only paint was farmed out it would be tough to build it for much less than that.

Re: wow $35,000!

Either set the reserve high with a low bid start or don't even try. I expect no action.

Amazing how some folks don't understand the basics of ebay. What a shame for such a great custom truck.

That one has been on Ebay a few times...
He is probably sick of setting a lower price and the bidding coming no where near $35K.

Re: wow $35,000!

I wasn`t going to hack on it,but...about the heartbeat logo, that knocks the price in half for me.Hand-painted or not,a $35,000 truck would be too classy for that`90s crap.It IS a very nice truck!

Very nice truck. I don't understand the point of 13 coats of clear other than just to say it has that much.

Re: wow $35,000!

no bids because of the unlucky # of clearcoat. Nice ride, but I have to agree the heartbeat is a bit tacky.
It seems that with 13 coats of clear the paint wouldn't be as shiney as one with 3 coats. I'm no painter so I'm not sure.
I was at the last goodguys show in charlotte and there was several up there that was listed for close to the same price. Makes me wonder. just goes to show you can buy one cheaper than you can build one.

Thats what I want for mine if it ever had to go. Any less than $30,000 and I will watch it sink into my front lawn.

It is one thing to ask $35K, it is another to have bids on it for that price. Nice truck, but looks dated to me.

For Sure.

Guys really need to be careful what threy do to there truck to keep the value 5-10 years from now. If the dumb bowtie's were not there it would still look good.

Re: wow $35,000!

All those coats of clear is an old laquer thing, definately not necessary with 2-stage urethane.Unless you`re trying to sink those "stickers" into the paint.

Re: wow $35,000!

Lose the hideous logos and add a big block. Then it might be in the neighborhood. Assuming it has an interior of similar quality.

Re: wow $35,000!

I'm no paint expert but in my experience clearcoat or paint that thick cracks and shrinks in time. As far as the stickers go, they might match the seats but should have been left on the junkyard donor. Now the price just confirms what all of us devoted hardcore enthusiasts already know. Is that these trucks are the best and we have been right all along. And if one of these rice burners new is worth $30,000. or more, even an american product for that matter then I know that if I add up my receipts and add one doller for every hour I've got into a finished project it would be way up there. I know I'm long winded but before I shut up let me quote what one of our member's said, "It's not what ya buy, it's what ya build."

All in all a pretty nice truck. I agree maybe buffing out the heartbeat & backwards bowties near the front. But i give an a for total effort, i can see where he may have close to that in it.
