Back from Alabama

I am back from a very long trip.
Went to Alabama on Monday via Memphis and Chattanooga. Stayed in Ft. Payne, Alabama and worked in Rainsville.
What a different world. Met the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Bar none.
Total strangers welcomed me after learning it was my first trip South. Restaurants, gas stations, stores. Guess it was my Northern accent that gave me away.
Met Buckshot finally. Been trying to get down there for 5 months.
Thanks Buckshot for the hospitality. Saw some great trucks. And don't worry about me, I was so lost. LOL
Spoke with Tim Christian. Great guy. Thanks Tim for keeping me straight on the order. Wish we could have met.
Learned a lot of new speech phrases. Love the way everyone speaks and made a bunch of new friends. Toured the Little River Canyon, ate like a king every day, saw some beautiful country. Could blend into the Southern lifestyle today.
I know the people that I was with will not see this but I would like to thank all the people from the areas that I stayed in or traveled through for making this a great trip.
I may have an offer to move there. Will have to give that a great deal of thought because of family. I could do it but family comes first in my house.
Rangernsk- got the message
Darrell- yours too
Tim- thanks again for working with my wife in my absence
Randy- Glad your trip went well. Mail me.
68Suburban, Chris - got the package Thanks.

glad you enjoyed it here ... was hoping we could meet up while you were down ... maybe next time!

P.S. What kind of work do you do? And where were you working in Rainsville ... I only ask because I have some customers over that way & thought you may be working with some of them.

I was at the VP/ Varco-Pruden plant. A manufacturer of Pre-enginnered metal buildings. My job involves everything from design to installation of equiptment. I work out of the St. Joseph, Mo. plant and work for VP.
Sometimes I am sent to install new machines, retrofit old ones or in this case, train the maintenance crew and operators in repair and setup of existing machines.
They were doing maintenance at a cost of 36 hours. I showed them how to cut that to 5 hours.
Hopefully that will increase their productivity and make their lives a little easier.
They were great people to work with.
