Little help on a 350 ramjet - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

A friend of mine just installed a RamJet 350 in his 69. Everything is brand new. He also installed the blazer tank in the rear.

I guess it will start then die. It will not run at all. He thinks something with the fuel pum like location...? I think it something computer related telling the fuel pump to cut power. I'm going down to take a look at it this friday and just want to have a couple ideas in my head to look for.

Anyone got any ideas?

Could be the power to the coil is hooked to starter engage instead of ignition. It will start because while the starter is turning, the coil gets power then when the key is released into the run position coil power gets cut.

don't know the fuel pressure specs for this type engine but deffinately check it with a guage. I'm thinking 55-60psi with engine running.

Is there normally a MAF on these? I know if the tube going to it is not installed then it wont turn the fuel pump on.

I'm not going to be able to check the fuel pressure when running because it won't run long enough.

I'll check the starter wire though.

it needs this much or more to start though.
