Extra under wheel arch fuel tank option.

My daughters truck came with 2 extra tanks under the back wheel arches in front of the wheels which we were told is a factory option, does anyone have the options list for a 67 truck just so I can see what they are all about (or am i asking for something that doesn't exist).

Cheers

Ash

Possibly aftermarket tanks.... can you post pics?

Edit: Factory aux. would be one extra tank only.... I'm thinking yours are aftermarket b/c you say there are two.

Re: Extra under wheel arch fuel tank option.

Factory installed tanks were probably option code NL2. They will have a filler neck through the bed-side. Aftermarket typically used a door cover, or filled from the wheel wells. These two threads should tell you quite a bit:

Sounds like dealer installed saddle tanks. Can you post a picture of the bedside fuel door?

Re: Extra under wheel arch fuel tank option.

They are more than likely dealer installed aftermarket tanks. I just had mine out to clean and re-coat the exterior with Rust-o-leum rubber coating and redo the tubing/hoses so I may be able to answer some questions for ya. Do they look similar to these? Mine have aluminum doors in front of the rear tires.

Re: Extra under wheel arch fuel tank option.

Sorry for the quality but this is the only pic ive got of the tank, the weather here is awful at the moment and the Truck is tucked away safe.

Cheers

Re: Extra under wheel arch fuel tank option.

Shown is the rear face of dealer-installed or owner-installed aftermarket dual saddle tanks. They are nice ones because they have the wheelwell filler neck, eliminating the need for the aluminum bedside filler doors. Have the same tanks on my 71.
